About the project
Established in 1981 White Rock Christian Academy is located in South Surrey, bordering on the community of White Rock. Renovation work began during May of 2018 to accommodate a growing community and increased enrollment. As of 2021, the remodeling of the building now can accommodate over 650 students, with two classrooms per grade.
Metric began working along-side Double V Construction for Phase 1 of the project.
Phase 1 included created additions to the existing school allowing for new Junior School classrooms as well as Fine Arts rooms for both Junior and Senior School students. This was completed as of 2018. A new playing field is currently in process, as well as the beginning stages of Phase 3, which is likely to include a new gymnasium, cafeteria, and other additional spaces.
Project Highlights
- Performed shotcrete-spray shoring concrete in preparation of vertical wall placement, increasing the bond strength and accommodating the timeline.
- Carefully managed site safety and risk mitigation in and around an active school zone without interruption to the educational schedule.
